Van Diepen Van der Kroef Advocaten is expanding. For our Utrecht office, we are looking for a secretary for long-term employment, for 28-40 hours per week.

Would you like to take on the challenge of learning everything about the profession? Or do you already have the necessary experience in the field, but are looking for a new challenge? Would you enjoy working in a close-knit team of four secretaries and also being given a lot of independent responsibilities? Working as a secretary at a law firm is a profession in itself. No case and no day is the same. That is precisely why working as a secretary at our firm is so enjoyable (we think). Secretaries and lawyers work together. As a secretary, you maintain an overview and know what is going on in files and with clients. You are never working with just one client or file; you also handle office organization. For example, we organize seminars and a golf day for our business relations, and we could really use your help with that. The position also offers a great deal of freedom for your own input and initiatives. Do you have a good idea for our firm? We would love to hear it and we welcome it.

What does a day at work look like? Van Diepen Van der Kroef out?

You often start your day by working through inboxes. But you might also need to get to work right away to get a document to the court urgently. You'll prepare documents, schedule meetings, monitor deadlines, and bring deadlines to the attention of lawyers. You'll send seminar invitations and register registrations. You'll welcome clients and make sure they have coffee. You'll create new files, check that all necessary information is recorded, and regularly update paper and digital files. You'll handle (online) office orders, ensure inventory is maintained, and prepare lunch. You'll independently call and email clients, lawyers, the court, and other parties we collaborate with. You'll edit (legal) documents, check them for typos and formatting, and prepare them for submission.

You consult with your colleagues, help out where necessary or ask for help.

  • Salary indication: €3,000 – €4,500 gross per month on a full-time basis, depending on age and experience.

Who are you?

You are an ambitious (future or experienced) secretary who:

  • has at least several years of experience in an office position. Experience as a legal secretary is, of course, a plus;
  • who enjoys doing a wide variety of tasks;
  • excellent command of Dutch, both spoken and written;
  • has a good command of MS Office;
  • customer-friendly, service-oriented and a team player.
